Dilly, Dilly Tinned Fish Toast

ometimes, a straight-out-of-the-can situation just doesn't cut it. Today, we're taking your tin fish game to the next level with a quick and easy recipe: Dilly Tin Fish Toast!

Ingredients:

1 can high-quality tin fish (sardines, tuna, or salmon all work great!)

2 slices of your favorite bread (We prefer sourdough or rye)

1 tablespoon mayonnaise or mashed avocado

1/4 cup chopped red onion

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (don’t love dill? sub in parsley and chives!)

Lemon juice, a squeeze

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
  1. Toast your bread slices to your desired level of crispiness.

  2. In a small bowl, combine your mashed avocado or mayonnaise with a squeeze of lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Drain your tin fish can, reserving a little bit of the oil for extra richness (optional). Flake the fish into bite-sized pieces.
    Spread the mayo/avocado mixture on your toasted bread.

  4. Top with the flaked tin fish and sprinkle with chopped red onion and fresh herbs.
